Wyoming general bull. Went down a couple days before season and seen elk everywhere we looked. Night before opening morning a snow storm came through and dumped quite a bit of snow. Opening morning visibility was pretty low but was suppose to break later into the morning so we hiked into an area and got setup in a good vantage point for when the weather finally broke. About 10am the clouds finally lifted and about 500 yards out we seen an elk across the drainage and above us. Closed the distance as much as we could. Just as I’m getting setup on the bull we can see a spike step out. My buddy says he’s going to shoot it so we 1,2,3 shoot once they are both in good positions. By 10:30am we were done on opening day and spent the next day and a half packing meat. The following evening to pass time before we left in the morning we hiked up on a ridge just to glass. Glassed 20 different bulls and at least 30 cows spread all across the drainages we could see just from the ridge above camp.

6.5 creedmoor 130 grain tmk started at 2800fps
Bull was 373 yards away. So first shot broke the onside humerus went through chest cavity and stopped on the opposite side shoulder joint. Found it just like that while butchering.

Second shot I adjusted my wind hold and my elevation slightly and stuck one behind the shoulder. Bullet went through chest cavity and was up against the hide on the offside

Bull went from feeding in red circle at bottom of picture to dead in red circle at top of picture
