We put in for Region B deer tags to hunt on a friends ranch he had bought there about a year ago. Just found out he sold it and the new owner won't let us hunt the property. So, we are looking into public land in Region B. I haven't hunted this area before and we aren't really interested in paying trespass fees if we can have a decent hunt on public land. My definition of a decent chance is an area where we have a chance of seeing deer. Doesn't have to be a bruiser. I've sent off to USFS/BLM for maps and am trying to get in touch with the game wardens, but any advice would be appreciated.

go early in the season there are some good bucks there but lots of hunters.
i dont know if regen b has sundance or heulet in it but there is some great hunting there.
the grasslands have lots of area but last year we saw as many elk as deer and some of those elk made the whole trip worth wile even if we didn't get to shoot them.
i'm a local so i wasn't really after anything unless it was big i still had my season here in casper and a big one i'd been looking at.
