WY Leftover Cow Tags

I'm thinking about trying to get a leftover Wyoming cow elk tag. Are there any tips or tricks to get the tag? Or is it simply a matter of logging into the Fish And Game web site early and being ready to purchase as soon as they are available at 8am July 13?

No real trick to buying them. Like you said, be ready right when they allow you to buy them - right at 8:00 am if it is a high demand leftover. Have your Wyoming ID# and credit card number info when you sign in. I've bought a few over the years and haven't had any issues.

The Type 6 tags will probably go a lot faster than the Type 4. Not much to it except to be a fast clicker.

Thanks for the comments. The tag I am looking at is a type 7 so hoping they don't sell out too fast. 8am in Wyoming is 2am in New Zealand!
