Wy. general tag

I should draw a general elk tag this year.I plan to be out bowhunting the last 10 days of season.The area I plan to scout in August during archery antelope is the Sierra Madres.Does anyone else have any general areas worth scouting while I'm out there?I mainly bowhunt, but may return for rifle to fill my tag.Looking for good public access areas, and non wilderness.I'm a non resident.Any help would be appreciated, thanks
