I have a hawkens woodsman which will not fire how do I unload it... Can the breach screw out or how do I do it.... I am in need of help

I would take out the nipple and put a little fresh powder down the hole and then thread the nipple back in and see if it fires. You can also get a bullet remover and pull the bullet out the muzzle.

You need a ball puller, which looks like a screw and attaches to your ramrod. It screws into the ball. Then the ball can easily be pulled out. It should work on bullets too, as long as there is some lead to tap into.

the easiest way is to unscrew the nipple, pack a little fresh powder in, and check that the nipple vent is clear as well. it should fire no problem

Glad you were able to clear it.
Is a terrible feeling on a black powder elk hunt (when I was younger) when you can't get it to fire. Hiked back to the truck and ask dad, "WTF? and he wanted to know how long I had been tromping around with the muzzle down. All it took was doing what you did, and no elk that trip. Lesson learned.
