The mainspecies of wolf is the gray wolf, which still inhabits areas of the Northern Hemisphere. When most people talk about wolves, they are in general speaking of the gray wolf.

PS I really don't want this to turn into some big agurment over who is for wolves and who is against them. Just some info, that most of us already know about them.

QD, Thank you. Is this something you're studying? What are a few of the sub-species? Sometimes we hear about the Mexican wolves here in SI.

No I'm not studying wolves at all, just interested in them. Sub-species? Oh I haven't gotten to that part of the calender as of yet, but I think one is the Red Wolf?????
