Looks like my dry spell keeps going.80 hours in the treestand this year and all I have had in bow range is a couple nubbin bucks.Hell the only bucks I have seen hunting this year was the 3 little one during the youth hunt.I hope the rut kicks in soon.Anyone having bad luck in wisconsin also or is it just me?

The big boys are just getting going. Find some scrapes and sit them this week. The buck I shot last weekend was loaded with fat and he did not stink one bit. He was just getting warmed up

Stay patient. For the past month, I've spent the majority of my mornings (pitch black till past dawn) and evenings (dusk till pitch black). Seen deer. Spooked deer. Followed deer. Re-spooked deer. Even took a shot at one with my pants down (yes, really) but missed. I'm still looking for my first bow kill and not giving up. I like this challenge.

Emrah

I got the first 9 days of November chalked up for vacation to get me some horn..... I'll get to bow-hunt for 13 days straight..hopefully the deer cooperate...

They've been hitting a winter wheat field pretty hard just North of my place so I'm hoping for some good action - I just need the right one to commit suicide and get in range of the ol' Bowtech...;)

Hang in there and Good Luck....patience is Key.

Just saw my first buck action tonight, couple of little ones chasen, but it should get better soon, maybe the big boys will get off there feet within the week.

Been spending some time out there as well. Saw a few does on the opening weekend but a ways away. Have not seen anything but a couple of fawns since. Nothing close enough for my son to get a shot. I did see several small bucks on a population control city park hunt but nothing big and you cant shoot bucks the first weekend anyway. Freezer is still empty.

I haven't had much luck in MN yet either. I have only had 1 legal buck in range so far..and barely. It seemed like they were thinking about moving a bit last weekend (and there was an increase in the number of dead deer along the road to show this as well). Hopefully they will be moving pretty good in the next couple of weeks!

Not sure what part of Wisconsin your hunting but I live in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I've seen some bucks this season, but nothing real huge. I did manage to arrow a 6 point yesterday evening. He didn't show any signs of rutting but I would imagine the pre-rut around here will be kicking in within the next few days. The first week of Novemeber is usually real hot around here.

I left a pretty nice 2 year old eight point walk under my stand tonight @ 7 yards... He came a few minutes behind a group of does heading toward the wheat field. He was sporting a chub, grunting now and then - pretty much unaware of anything else other than where the does went... wish I hadn't forgot my camera...

The rut is on - now I just need daddy to show up...;)

First ruttin action was seen tonight.Had a small raghorn 7pt on public ground come in and I stuck him at 41yds with a heart shot. Nothing bi but I will post pictures tommarow.

As promised. Hes not big but it was a good hunt

Well... Daddy showed up tonight, and, I remembered my camera....

Got out of work late... rushed home, got changed and out the door only to chase a stack of deer away from under my stand - crap.

Saw a few deer moving a few hundred yards away in the other direction about a 1/2 hour later... may have been the same deer - don't know.

Getting dark, I was getting ready to leave when I heard a deer walking towards me - crap again - decided to let it pass without spooking it. Then I heard it beat the chit out of a tree, make a scrape and finally kept coming. He got about 40 yards out - way too dark for an ethical shot so I just glassed him. Could tell he was out past the ears, had four nice long tines on one side, and light colored antlers. Good enough for me, cept it was dark - crap again.

He knew something wasn't right and kept staring my way - finally he made a scrape where he stood and walked straight away from me and went down to the creek bottom. I could still hear him walking around, there may have been other deer there too... don't know. So I tried to sneak out without spooking them - I think I was successful.

Going out in the morning to a different stand across the creek.

I'm pumped up now - the camera battery's were dead - crap...;)

Hopefully the field cams got a pic of him this week...

Perfect weather this morning and tonight - got skunked this morning, and only saw a doe & 2 fawns tonight... hopefully better action tomorrow.

Here are some pics of the buck I let pass Thursday night:

Here is the scrape the big guy made Friday night right at dark - my stand is straight away in the clump of trees up the hill - I ranged it at 44 yards.

Here is the blind we hunt when my daughter comes with me - and that is the neighbors winter wheat field that is HOT right now - they planted it in early September.

Here is a view from one of my stands facing the field - through the trees on the left, you can see the back side of my shed, house is on the other side of that.

174in, IMO archery is whole different world and any deer with a bow is a good deer, I've been on a dry spell for way too long with my bow, congrats on your buck.

Bucnutz, good luck & looking forward to seeing you holding them horns in a pic.
