I'm 12 miles northwest of rock dam. Rut activity been slow til this morning. Chasing a 150 class 12 pt in the county forest.

here in Indiana no signs of rut quite yet, seeing a few bucks, a few scapes, passed on a pretty nice 10. . .may have not been a good idea. I'm guessing any day it will get going. I have it wrote down that last year on Nov 2 I saw my first buck chasing a doe.
Nadda, nothing, zip this weekend. Founds lots of scrapes, but judging by the size of them and the tracks in them as well as the location I"m guessing it's some young bucks feeling their oats. Next weekend may be the time to sit, dark to dark. I thinks it's about to pop in So. Indiana.

Was out the past few days in southeast MN, and the action was pretty heavy. Now I'm home sick hoping to recover soon! I saw possibly the biggest buck I've ever seen chasing two does. I have no idea how many points he had other than that he had a lot of them. Width-wise, he looked comparable to the 23" buck we got last year, but it's hard to say.
He started at 100 yards, and I got him to come within 50, but he was in the brush. He couldn't see any other deer, so he got nervous and left in the direction the does had gone. Seeing that buck is making me question my trip to Colorado during the first shotgun season here as I suspect we could get him with the rut on and knowing where he is hanging. Hopefully nobody gets him, and he is still around to hunt in the later seasons, or hopefully we can get him in the couple of days before we head out! My uncle will be hunting the first shotgun season, so I would be awesome happy to see him get it while we are gone.

I was not out the last two days, sick, but I was just told they are chasing and even in the middle of the day. I'm hoping to get out tomorrow to stick a big one !

general feeling among my freinds and are that the rut is 2 weeks behind normal schedule and it will still be happening during the gun hunt.
