Where to sleep on a roadtrip???

I stayed just off 70 last November in Hays and wasn't at all worried about my gear. Bella's diner and LB brewing company in downtown has good food and drinks. I'll be staying there again this November while heading to Colorado.

I drive from Chattanooga to Colorado every year and always stop in Hayes. We stay in the Hampton Inn right off the interstate and have never had a problem. I tell the front desk that I have hunting gear in the truck and they let me park up front. They also let you bring your rifles into the hotel. There are good restaurants close by for dinner and breakfast and several gas stations, all with diesel if needed. Have a great trip and good luck on your hunt.

I'm a fan of a KOA or other campground. State parks are often near urban areas and offer a good spot to sleep. I bring a small backpacking tent that is quick to set up and take down. Pull in late, sleep, get up early. Hotel room is nice but it seems like cross country trips for me are on a shoe string most times.
