What to look for in a tent?

I am looking at purchasing a pop up tent trailer for the family summer camping trips. If any of you own one or have any trailer experience could you give me some pointers about looking at used models? Specific things that should be paid attention too before purchasing? I am fairly mechanical but have not spent any time around camp/tent trailers before.

Look really close at zippers around the windows plus the window screens themselves. Also look for mildew because sometimes they are folded up wet.If a newer model with water heater make sure it has not been stored with water in it over the winter. I owned a coleman tent trailer a few years back,,liked it pretty well,crank up worked good and it had colemans version of gore-tex fabric,,,didnt leak even on oregon steady rains,,,id recomend coleman just for the fabric.

mine was about a 2003 model or 04,,,fairly basic model with a good heater in it,,,not bad even at 15 degrees.
