I guess I missed something...but by the Moosemans reactions, I don't think I really want to know what it was :confused:

Go to Google and type in "Plano mom charged with murder".

I have a Local News link but you have to register to get the info. The basic story is :

~~~~~
PLANO – Covered in her daughter's blood, Dena Schlosser sat in the living room of her apartment listening to the hymn "He Touched Me."
Dena Audre Schlosser "Shackled by a heavy burden/'Neath a load of guilt and shame/Then the hand of Jesus touched me/And now I am no longer the same," the beginning of the hymn goes.
Ms. Schlosser is heard humming along on a 911 recording as she answers a telephone call from an emergency dispatcher about noon Monday.
"I cut her arms off," the 35-year-old said in a quiet voice about her 10-month-old daughter, who later died. She tells him the baby is unconscious and isn't breathing.
Paramedics found the baby in a crib in a bedroom. Her arms were severed. The child died at Medical Center of Plano.
Ms. Schlosser, who was diagnosed with postpartum depression during a Child Protective Services neglect investigation early this year, was charged with capital murder Monday afternoon.
When paramedics arrived, a man's voice can be heard on the 911 tape calmly saying: "Give me the knife now. Give me the knife."
She offered no explanation for her actions to the dispatcher, and police would not comment about why she may have killed the youngest of her three daughters. They also would not discuss whether investigators recovered a knife or other weapon.
The child's name has not been released, and the woman's husband could not be reached for comment.
"Both arms were completely severed," Plano police spokesman Officer Carl Duke said. "She was not talking when she left here. She was very quiet, subdued."
Plano police said the child's injuries were horrifying.
I just searched all over for it and finally found it, Thats freaking insane.
I dont care if people like that are on drugs i'll or unstable , they need to be taken out and shot then left for the buzzards. No trial no nothing.
I think if I was the 911 Operator I would have said :
"MAM do you have a Gun in the house "
Lady "Yes,...."
"Now listen closeley, Please go get it, load up just one bullet in it, put it in your mouth and Pull the trigger, We'll send the coorinor over to pick you up later. You and your child you just murdered to save tax payers money and rid this world of your Fugged up life.............."
..........
Schlosser, who had a history of postpartum depression, had been investigated on child neglect allegations earlier this year, but Texas Child Protective Services had recently closed a seven-month investigation, concluding that Schlosser did not pose a risk to her children. Neighbors said she seemed to be a loving, attentive mother.
Protective services lets another child down!!
I read that article in the morning Newspaper, right after reading about the guy shooting the Hunters, I was sorry to read about the hunters, but I was almost physically Ill when I read about the infant. The media will tell all the wrong things about the guy shooting the Hunters, but will swear this mother needs the goverments help and protection. Postpartum depression is real, but when does the Mother stop being protected of her civil rights and the Kids get the attention they need.
Plano is a rich subburb, however you spell that, of Dallas. They had a 6 and 9 year old in daycare and the mom was at home with the baby, the dad was at work. I guess the family was under some stress, keep up with the Jones'? Postpartum depression?
We used to have extended families to help with problems like this, now we have less of that. I forwarded the story link that Mojave posted, to a lady in psychiatry here. I work at a medical school. We'll see what she tells me about how to prevent this type of thing?
You would think, they would have had some signs that she was at risk. The dad had to go be at work. How do you stop this?
Child Protective Services, I wonder if they referred to help? Plano is a rich community, they must have services? There's big, big houses there in Plano. The lady freaked out, I guess. I don't know why?
We should register mothers! Make them get a liscense to be a mother! Otherwise, ban them. Hows that? Sorry, its a sad, sad thing. That 6 and 9 year old and dad, have got a problem.
Now I am truely sorry I asked. As a father of three I just can't comprehend someone doing this, insane or not you would have to think there is still a parent inside there somewhere.
To think of the agnony that little child went through and how someone can just keep on regardless of the screaming that must have taken place.
I just know that at my angriest with my kids all it takes is for them to look at me with that "awwww dad" look and I still melt.
Hey MarvB.
If I'm online...I'd rather be hunting! Did you see that story that you may be able to do that? Its in Sportsman's issues and the elk section. May neighbor is trying to make that possible, but he's go a few snaggs at the moment.
Post pardom depression is just a piss poor excuess for being F- up.
I dont by this crap of all the syndroms, they use these excuess for one thing and one thing only to get out of death sentences or to find a reason people shouldnt get the death pentilty.
the depressions and sundroms were all created by lawyers so they could keep there clients out of jail.
you give people the death penilty and be done with it, wether they have issue or not. They clearly show they are not fit for society in doing such a thing so why keep them around. KILL THE BITCH
Fast lane.
We've got a fast lane to the death penalty here.
Its like if there were several wittnesses, that saw the murder, and they agree it was murder, then you get the fast lane, go straight to the death penalty.
I don't think this lady had witnesses. I don't know the law, maybe she can choose the fast lane, if that's what she wants. She's got a good start for it.
Delw, You are wrong, many of our wives, sisters and daughters go through Post Pardom Depression, it seems that in this case there was not a responsible person or persons to intercede in the infants behalf. I still am not taking up for what she did, but PPD is a reality and perhaps this will save a child or two because of the publicity of this one infants death. John
Draftstud I agree that the PPD is a real thing but 11 months down the road? Plus being cleared by the child protection agency? No signs of being a physco? I hope they hang the bitch in town square. Sorry but being a parent and hearing about child abuse from parents or anybody really gets my goat. No excuses.
Here's what the psychiatry faculty member here I asked responded.
"I know, I read it just now too. it's very very sad. Basically if people don't get good care or avoid care and have others around them who don't understand the potential problems, it happens. "
The husband is part of the problem, he didn't get it, maybe? Maybe he avoided care that his wife needed? The mom did, I guess, for sure. 911 is not exactly the appropriate care, but it was some kind of care.
Draftstud
I dont buy the ppd crap sorry. just like I dont buy the other 1,000 excuess people use when they screw something up.
look at A.D.D. thats the biggest bunch of freaking bs there is, and look at all the people that say there kids have it.
I know some people who are to lazy to take care of thier kids so they say he has got A.D.D. and drug the poor kid. Now with all the meds the kids come out like shit, they are totally useless in society.
School teachers are saying kids have add to parents so they can have a more peacefull enviroment. Its a bunch of crap.
YOu know what its like to look at a kid on medication ie prozack, there is no kid inside its like they are like brain dead. they cant think they cant do nothing.
People want the easy way out so they get the labels then the meds.
I'm sorry I dont buy it, you take responcibility for your actions and YOU DONT blame it in this problem or that problem.
If like you said many of our sisters wifes and daughters go through this, how come it wasnt an issue at all back in the 40 or 50 or 60 or even the sevenies?
Its a cope out when they cant handle the pressue they use the PPD as a freaking excuess, it makes them fell better about them selves I guess.
Freaking lawyers had to put labels on everything to justify people for thier actions.
Hey, its doubled nationally from 1970 to 2000. In 2000 it was 9.1 homicides of infants per 100, 000 children. Its not just in one state.
http://www.childhelpusa.org/abuseinfo_stats.htm#fatalities
They say 1,300 / year there. Like 3 per day in the US, killed, infants, mostly by parents, in the US.
That's just killed, not neglect, sexual abuse, mental abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse, etc. That's killing.
