What did you stock up on?

We chose ice cream...its gone already

February 15th, began a get in better shape regimen. Have trimmed almost 20 #.
Said screw it last weekend, baked my wife's killer Choc Chip cookie recipe.
Did something wrong, they didn't turn out near like her's.
Back to the regimen. Bought Ice cream for my mom during my weekly trip to the grocery today. It didn't even look good. I've lost it.

As Lloyd Bridges said "I picked a bad time to quit sniffing glue (substitute X)"

I have an easy artisan Amish bread recipe that takes 3 cups per pop if you'd like it. I cook it in a cast iron dutch oven with bacon grease and the crust is amazing.
Sounds great. Anything cooked with bacon grease in a dutch oven has to be good.

We keep a full pantry, mainly for hurricane season, so we really don't need anything. Our chickens keep us in more eggs than we could ever eat, and I don't drink milk because I'm lactose intolerant. We also have a bidet so TP is not much of an issue. I haven't been to the store since this crazyness started.
I'm still working but if I get sent home, I may need a refill on my Viagra.

Ultra pasteurized chocolate milk.

My 9yr old boy drinks a gallon of "chocolate" every 4 days.

When the run hit, our store had ultra pasteurized with long code dates.

Tater tots. The huge bags were all there were, so we have 3. Gotta have a tator tot👍👍

Precooked bacon from Costco. Same 9yr old has 4 pieces of bacon with his "chocolate" everyday for breakfast.

I got myself a vacuum sealer for my b day in Jan, so I had already been playing with it on day old meats. We are down to not much elk, DIDNT shoot a deer, and made 10lbs duck/goose/swan jersey in Jan as well so still chewing on that.

My wife is an accountant. We have always bought day old, or caselot, so we generally have stuff on hand anyways.

While everyone else was buying tp and top ramen we stocked up on heathy frozen foods, green tea, Vitamin C, ginger, bananas, and about 100 other things that boost immunity..

freezers full with elk, deer, lope, and geese.

What really sucks is when you have 5 kids living in your home, 1 at college who might come home, and you go to try to buy a 2 weeks supply of food and everyone at the store thinks your hoarding a years rations.. lol

interestingly enough, when everyone was fighting over the last hand sanitizers and roll of charmin I picked up 2k more .556 rds, 500 each of 9,10,45, another 200 168 vld’s, and 2 lbs more rl 33... the shelves were still full..

last but not least, although I haven’t drank much the last couple years, I went a picked up the biggest bottle of Jack Daniels I could find.. haven’t opened it, hopefully I won’t have to...

I grew up with a Semper Paratus mentality. I've always got a two month stash of staples and meds. And I did buy a couple of big packs of TP, enough bottled water for a month or more and I have a well out back, I even keep a stock of seeds. I figure most of the people complaining about hoarding were just slow on the trigger :) This isn't my first rodeo I've been through a couple of big earthquakes and a couple of nearby major invasions. I've got a long gun and a short gun for everybody in the immediate family and enough ammo for a good while. And a fairly hefty Trauma kit. I didn't over prepare, but I sure as heck didn't under prepare. Most everything in the back yard is edible, I'm not big on ornamentals or grass.

I am doing pretty good, growing up in somewhat rural AK, I have always had a nice stash of canned and non perishable goods in the pantry. My wife would always roll her eyes at the more canned goods that I would bring home but she is more understanding now.
I went to a gun store today to pick up a transfer rifle and they were cleaned out of ammo. I am glad I reload, I have plenty of powder and primers for a while.

Another one who wishes I was headed to , Almost North Dakota, not quite Canada.

Very nice! I need to teach myself how to do that.

We have bought a few more canned goods than normal but nothing to the extreme

Nothing much here as we keep a pretty full pantry, but my dad did stop over about a week ago and walked in with a 4 pack of Charmin as a present. Pretty funny!

I would love to send my daughter to Almost North Dakota, not quite Canada to just sit and listen!

I have a huge pantry that is always well stocked and three freezers that are mostly full. I detest grocery shopping so we hit sam's club about every three months to stock up. Last run was end of January so timing was good.
Pa closed the liquor stores last week so I stopped a few days before when they were still talking about it and they had GOT themed Johnnie Walker on sale for $19.99. I walked out with a half case of it.
I do admit to finding 500 .22 cal bullets on the web for a decent price and impulse bought.

Some booze and beer. We have two children with Immune deficiency one daughter with Asthma ( along with my wife) we did go grab some extra milk as we tend to go through a gallon a day and we wanted to limit my exposure to the outside world with us being in the Chicago suburbs. Both freezers are full of elk/deer/chicken/pork.

I did take the down time to inventory all my empty handgun brass and holy cow I had forgotten how much I had empty.

That's 9mm in the three containers to the right ( two big coffee cans are cleaned and ready to go)
45acp to the left in the metal coffee can ( also cleaned and ready to go)
10mm in the back left.

Went to the powder vault and grabbed some Unique and Bullseye. The Dillon will be running a bit this weekend!

Enough grain, hops, and yeast to brew 20 gallons of beer. Freezer is full of antelope, ducks, chicken, and tri-tip. My local grocery store runs buy one get free of chicken and tri-tip once a month.

I stay stocked up on bourbon and cigars.

What Items and Prices trigger you to stock up? Looking for more suggestions than just meat.

Choice ribeye or new york steaks $4.99/lb.
Tri tip (usually un trimmed) $2.99 /lb.
Pork loin roasts $1.99/lb

The other thing I need to do is build a better way to store potatoes and onions.
