Saw there was some heavy rains out your way...I wish.1.5" starting at 3am this morning...83 or so high. Tolerable.
Good to hear about the rain.Finally.
2nd downpour of the afternoon.
In between I went and got a big fresh bale of alfalfa and got it unloaded...boots 2 inches high and they come undone as I get back to the truck.
Elk out feeding in open midday. Looking sleek now that the winter coats are gone. Still thin.
14 fires going in NM, lightning strikes.
What is this rain you speak of? Western Colorado would like to knowGuess is 1/2"...I'll check later. Muddy.
The elk went south, tracks headed there, due to yote factor down below. After prairie dogs...the only thing they seem to try for.
Nothing hit the hay. The young cows knew trouble was down there.
Plenty of water in bedding areas I imagine.
Extreme fire winds thru Sun. Blowing already so the mud will be short lived.
Getting very smokey from the UT Beaver fire, a bad one.
Land based tornado hit Los Lunas, some damage. Bizzare.
Fence line rains, lucky some came inside my fence.
Oh yeah, it's Sat. No Dr. til Tues. LOL
I always am hopeful...usually after the 4th in SW NM.What is this rain you speak of? Western Colorado would like to know![]()
Smoky in the City Different yesterday, not so much today. Seems warmer than usual. Driving back to real heat & humidity tomorrow.I always am hopeful...usually after the 4th in SW NM.
Driest on record and hottest. Half inch did not help much. Need some frog stranglers.
Gotta get past us for you west CO folks or UT. AZ is dying too.
Got email from Dept. of Wildlife just now. Hank has a LO MB tag this year. I'm up...
No cow tags in 3 years.
Had a bull down there a few days ago...he left calling cards.
Poor me, I always get shat on...LOL
Reminds me to order new burlap tarp to gather alfalfa stem left full of it. Excellent fertilizer.
Cleared up a bunch and the wind has died down some here. But its 93 again.Smoky in the City Different yesterday, not so much today. Seems warmer than usual. Driving back to real heat & humidity tomorrow.
Happy Fourth Hank !After just thinking there had been few snakes about, 4 in the last 2 weeks. 1 bad green guy and yesterday 3 different gopher snakes.
A little 2 footer from under porch, then the big one. 6ft long and wrist width. In a log pile.
And as I was trying to make up my mind about a bbq fire, heard a ruckas from robins above me. Not after me ,but I saw the nest.
Then a four footer headed right to the nest and before I could grab a stick it had the young. No fire, too windy, again.
Red sunrise turned cloudy and it has been trying to rain. Better chance Mon./Tues in west NM.
Monsoonal high in place and just needs a push.
Young horned toads abound.
Burgers and beans on the gas tonight. Berries and ice cream.
Happy 4th all.
