A couple of months ago I finally read This House of Sky by Ivan Doig. Quintessential small-town Montana that has all but vanished now. I know the places, but it must have been something to see and live in at that point in time. Funny how some of the characters remind me of folks you still run into at the backroads and dives in the dusty corners of the state.

Started on the Margaret Coel Wind River Reservation mystery series.

Marc Cameron's Arliss Cutter series is also good.

Craig Johnson's Longmire series are good reads.

Doig's English Creek trilogy is also well worth reading.

Finished the second season of Netflix Terminal List based on Carr’s ‘True Believer’ book. I’d read the book & the screen version was well done.

About 2/3 through this one. Also very good. Having read about David Thompson’s journeys through Canada and exploration of the northern tributaries of the Columbia, this one is a good complement.

I grew up in Oregon and knew nothing about how the journeys to establish a trading post at Astoria played out. More journeys that were kind of doomed from the beginning.

I'm about halfway through The Wayfinder, by Adam Johnson. Fascinating novel set in the pre-contact Tonga/Fiji islands. Such a bizarre culture in so many ways. I've always been interested in how the ancient Polynesians found their way to Hawaii so this book is right up my alley.

But the coolest thing, which I didn't realize until I awoke in the middle of the night and happened to glance over at my nightstand, is that the stars on the cover GLOW IN THE DARK.
