@WildWill - I'm too cheap to upgrade. I'm not that into it. I'm actually thinking I'd like to go more in the trad direction. I've got some Pacific Yew leaning against the wall in the basement. I've always wanted to make my own.
I bet it still makes stuff dead. Self bow would be cool my dad made his from Osage orange. Still have it and a couple dozen port orford cedar arrows I hunt with occasionally. Or I should say sit in a treestand with occasionally a deer would have to be so close I could club it for me to hit anything.

After giving this up, I decided to come back to it, if for nothing else but out of sheer principle.

If you are a faithful male Christian you'll probably love it as is. I did not. For reasons that I won't go into, I could not see past the hypocrisy. Which, at times became too unbearable requiring me to turn it off if favor of Top 40 radio. My biggest takeaway is that the author pissed away some great poignant points (the loss of masculinity, and the mis-use of masculinity) trying to center every issue, and of course solution, back to the bible and either the teachings of JC or his actions. I would very much like to find a similar book that discusses the topics at hand in a scientific light.

On to a true marathon... Infinite Jest

I just started The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. Didn't expect it to hit as hard as it does. It's kind of one of those books that sneaks up on you emotionally.

I am a bit of a completist, so I will find an author or a series and read it from oldest to newest. Problem is, I have caught up to current on most of my authors so I have to wait 12 months for the next installment.

I just started reading The Deep Blue Good-by written by John MacDonald. It was published in 1964 and he wrote 22 books in that series. I was worried that I wouldn't enjoy it enough to continue the series, but I am definitely planning on finishing the series now that I am 1/3 of the way into it.

Read The Big Sky and These Thousand Hills close to 10 times by now, but this is the first time hitting this one and I’ve tore through 1/3 of it already
