I've been accumulating some deer points in Wyoming since I have been fortunate enough to draw elk each year since 2007. So I have 4 points that I was considering putting towards the LE hunt in units 141and 162.

While I have hunted north and south of that area, I am unfamiliar with just what it takes for a real migration through that area. Was wondering if anyone who has had that tag saw some action with the storm that rolled through on the 7th of October.

I was curious if I would just be better off with a G or H tag and hunting the early opener?

I was a lso curious if anyone with a wildlife biology background had any opinions on the Winter range situation near Pinedale and whether that will improve in the future?

dont know your full answer but you should be able to pull a g or h gen season easy with 4 points,,,maybe even with 3 points for deer regular tag.

Let's just say I hunted "up that way" this year and saw a good amount of deer...just no bucks. Only saw 2 bucks in 3 days of hunting and I saw both of them together on my last morning I was going to be up there. They were just 2 little 3 points that I probably shouldn't have shot but I didn't know how much more I was going to be able to deer hunt. I did see a lot of good deer coming from the higher country but the winter put a real hurt on them. It's going to take a few years of mild winters before any improvements are made IMO.

take that info as you wish.

Don't know anything about those LE units but for 4 points that's the way I would be looking. G & H are good areas but don't take that many points to draw and I know G got hit hard last winter.
