West Nile in Sage Grouse

The only big game hunters that may find dead sage-grouse fresh enough to detect West Nile Virus (WNV) would be those hunting the last half of August (archery antelope hunters) or those archery or rifle hunting in early September. Let's hope that by the middle of September the weather is cool enough to get rid of the mosquitoes.

Also, road killed sage-grouse can and should be reported as WNV has been detected in road killed sage-grouse in the past.

West Nile is killing our Ruffed Grouse here in Pa. Totally decimating the population even in areas with great habitat. Eggs Hatch and the chicks die mid to late summer
