West Africa Sierra Leone

So have the contract for the job with African minerals, 250K USD a year, 6 weeks on 3 off and will be flown business class to and from New Zealand or they will fly my wife up and back from N.Z. to Paris or London instead.

I have done due diligence and have a good friend who's been there for 18 months with no worries, thinking I can work for 3 years, get some African safaris and European trips done and then retire.

Does anyone work or know anyone who's working in the iron ore industry in West Africa ie: Sierra leone, Liberia or French Guiana ?

Just so it's not the branch manager who is trying to get a dead mans bank account closed and he needs to use your account to move the money....! On a much more serious note, how is your French with an "African" accent, any embassy alerts concerning the region you would be in, and would you be able to handle work on "Africa-time".......compared to USA and NZ work.ethic, it can be quite frustrating if you are a hard driver used to rigid schedules.

Good luck, neither of the three are without their problems. Let's hope you don't wind up having to work in a fenced compound most of the time and carry a gun all the time.
