Well I was able to fill my turkey yesterday morning about 8:30. I had slept in a little and got busted by some birds in the fiel right off. I moved to a different field and started calling and got a response a long way off about 7:45. The bird gobbled every time the farmers rooster would crow. I decided to sneak closer about 300 yards and set up. I let out a series of calls and got a response instantly and close. Two gobblers came in to about 20 yards. The one I ended up shooting had a 9" beard.
Sunday I ran the Pittsburgh marathon and beat last years time by 8 seconds according to my watch. Time was 3:55 and some change haven't looked at the official timing yet. I should have done a little better but running conditions were tough this year. It was very hot and I got somewhat dehydrated causing calves to cramp.
Sunday afternoon went for a walk mushroom picking more less to get stiff legs moving again and found 10.
