I love to fish and I also love variety. Every once in a while an opportunity comes along that is just too much to pass up. The fish in this post are all cichlids, mostly African cichlids. I got a lead on a top secret spot from a friend last week and I followed up to see if it was true. Granted these fish are tiny, but honestly I don't care. A tiny exotic fish caught on a rod and reel beats being stuck at this desk today. There are bigger fish in the place where I caught these and by the time I figured out how to catch them I was out of bait. I'll be going back to try and get a big one or two. Even if I don't it's still fun catching fish that are so unusual and not on the grid for most fisherman in the U.S.. Ya, I know my hands look really dry. If you worked in a public school with every cold, virus, and disease known to man floating around you everyday your hands would look dry too from washing them countless times a day.

Toto, I don't think he's in Kansas, or Utah, or Montana for that matter...... Spring break trip to a canal in south FL?

Really cool fish. Thanks for the pics. Show us some of the big ones when you fool them.
