Congrats. Maybe we’ll run into one another out there.Any other moose 334 tag holders here?
Hi I drew this year and would love to talk to you! I think I have a good idea but obviously I’m a first timer hereWhere’d you draw the goat? I drew 323 last year and happy to help anyone that did. I got some great advice from some guys on here and glad to return the favor
I do love to talk to you!Another week spent in 323. Lot of goats. Wish I had a tag.

Yeah I totally get that. I’ll be there the 1st-8th of September for sure then whatever it takes from there on out. I live pretty close so hopefully I’ll be able to get my eye balls on it a few times this summer.Another year i didn't draw, but I will be in 323 in mid September for a week if you find yourself solo needing a packer.
I'm reluctant to give out actual advice as I have to several in the past about specific locations and they never wanted to tell me after the fact about the areas they hunted. I've been in 323 many times and looked at many goats. Lots of options and few are bad.

A long time ago, I drew a goat tag in 323. It wasn't too difficult to find goats, the problem was the vast ruggedness of the country.
It took multiple trips, before I killed one in mid October. You can see their hair grow, week by week. So, in hindsight, it was a blessing that it took that long.
Good luck with your tag.
I could probably stand to wait for sure but the whole thing is exciting and overwhelming at the same time knowing this will be my one shot. I had a buddy that drew a 334 moose permit 3-4 years ago and I had more anxiety over the whole thing than he did. He ended up with a really nice bull 2nd day of the season…….guess I’m just a wound tight dudeFor a non resident, I think a mid to late September hunt is best because of weather. For those who can wait and watch the weather, a mid October goat will be a true trophy out of that area. It's amazing the difference a couple of weeks makes.
Elk, moose, deer, etc. make sense to get early. The true trophy of a goat is the hunt, the hair, and not the horns. Go early and scout and gain experience in the unit. Only shoot if it's massive. Go late for the hair.I could probably stand to wait for sure but the whole thing is exciting and overwhelming at the same time knowing this will be my one shot. I block my work schedule off for the last two weeks of September each year in case I finally draw. As a non resident I figure that's about as late as I can safely plan to hunt without really being affected by the weather. If I was a resident, I'd probably block the first two weeks of October off and use every day off in September as scouting.
