Waterfowl?

Does anyone hunt ducks and geese. My son Archie the yellow lab wont be to happy if I'm not hunting waterfowl too when I move there. Especially canadian geese!
Anyone know? Thanks.

I dont hunt waterfowl but there some decent places around anchorage.

We are the top of the Pacific Flyway...we got gobs of waterfowl.

Season opens Sept 1, which kind of sucks because it conflicts with everything else.

You will need a boat to acess the better areas. AK has chapters of DU and the retriever organizations. I'm sure they'll be happy to help you out when you arrive.

Season opens Oct 8 here on the island. You can't shoot canada's here because the aleutian goose migrates through here. You can shoot speks but I've only seen 1 and it was a couple days before the season opened. Lots of Emperor geese around but you can't shoot them either. :BLEEP:

TB if you come to the mainland to hunt this Sep and want to do a side trip for ducks and geese in Sep, I'll take you out on the Susitna flats or up the Knik Arm.
