Virus detection

Thought I would bring this to your attention. Starting yesterday and today when I log onto Hunt Talk almost immediately an AVG Detection box pops up and informs me a virus was detected and the threat was successfully removed, but still makes me nervous about logging onto this site. Anyone else having those same issues??

Probably on your end. This site is continually monitored for such and at a considerable cost. It would be the first first report of such.

I think I had the same virus a while ago when I bought a new computer and thought I could get away without anit-virus software. It changed random text into links to the advertisement you mention. It works best on a site like HuntTalk where you click on text to open threads, which is why it may seem more active here compared to other sites. I installed Malwarebytes and that got rid of it. I don't believe it originated from HuntTalk.

The OP may need to a little research to find the source of this virus. Mike Webb has a method to finding such viruses. May not be the most effective, but more "entertaining" than installing any software.

Well for whatever reason, today it is not doing it any longer! See fixed itself! :hump: It has never done that to me in the past, and it was only those couple of days.
