Sweet pics, I've spent many a day on 'those' mountains, and caught lots of 'cuts out of the creek and lakes. Beautiful spot. My grandfather worked for the F&G back and the day and stocked those lakes via pack horse.
Did you guys see any goats? used to be a ton of them up there, but I guess the last 5-10 years the population has really slid down hill.

Yellowstone Cutts up to 15" in the lakes. Saw no goats - hair, tracks, and turds. Goat numbers are on the low side around there. Wolverine tracks in the snow at 10200'. Walked across an area about 500 sq ft that a [grizzly most likely] bear had excavated. The biggest critter moment was almost stepping on this girls babies, which were barely able to fly away at grass top level.....

I grew up with a dad that had the same office views as you. Kinda makes up for all the crap paper work stuff you have to do in the office after those recon days in the field. Thanks for the pictures

My dad was the Forest Service fisheries biologist. What a way to spend my summers. Hiking/horsebacking into awesome high mountain lakes and seeing awesome country. It didn't hurt that we found some awesome elk archery areas while doing it. Good memories.
