Finally heard my first gobble yesterday, and saw a strutted last week. I hope we get some warmer weather to really get things cranked up. Anybody else seeing anything?

Have seen several strutters in the past few days. Haven't heard anything yet...

I think this weather we've been having is screwing them up a lil. One day its 70 then the next day down in the 30s I would like a nice few weeks at about 50.

I have seen some strutters but I haven't been out early enough to hear if they are gobbling yet. Agree with the others who say it's been cold out there!

Well the weather looks good for youth day here on sat, 70's all week. Good luck to all who are goin, I won't be out till the 12.

This morning in Louisa Va the Tom's were hammering all around the lake. maybe a dozen different areas and a few birds from each area. I know the populations of Tom's has grown since we have only taken 3 -4 birds a year. for the past 5-6 years. I am getting excited. I hope I can hold back for a BOSS and not blow my wad at 1st bird LOL.

Good news for sure!!
Heard one sounding off Saturday morning (Floyd County) and 3 were carrying on pretty good this morning at work in Carroll County.
Seeing bunches of 'em in my travels...it's happening!

Keep your cool Dave - hold out for a long beard!!!

Season already going here. Been strutting for about a week or 2. Some birds are still hanging pretty close to the cattle pens like they do most of the winter. Hopefully the weather will clear up and they will disburse. Still seems like winter right now.

Same here Dave, ready as ill ever be. Heading out Fri to try to roost one, then will go from there. There are so many hens around its gonna be tough. Everything I've heard and from what I've seen, is lots of roost gobbling and minimal ground gobbling. Gota make it happen quick.
