Minimal available quality feed = Poor body condition
Poor body condition = Sub optimal antler growth

Utah is a state most guys wait double digit years to draw a tag. Why would anyone hunt smaller bulls with many of them having a higher chance of also being broken?

Folks don't talk about how to kill them because there is information all over the internet. There is no shortage of videos or books on how to kill and find a big bull elk.

The beaver is a high country unit, comparing that to almost any AZ unit is apples to oranges. Not to mention the moisture has been dramatically different when comparing the two states.

Our household got a couple of general season deer tags and a CWMU bull elk tag. Should be a fun fall!

I'm not trying to be intentionally negative at all greenhorn, I just want expectations to be in check.

Correct...that +1 this year in the NR bonus point pool saved one of us. Somewhere out there is the random "other" NR.

I don't know how many tags the unit had, but between me and your kid we have two of them. Now the planning starts! I saw the thread and opened my email to see the message came through at 1020 so I was only seven minutes behind. Can't really believe it happened.

I live in MO. My strong suspicion is that the extra tag helped me, but I suppose I could have drawn the random tag as well. Excited for the hunt regardless!
