Anyone see the article about Michael Boren in The NY Times today?

“He Built an Airstrip on Protected Land. Now He’s in Line to Lead the Forest Service”

This guy has a history of putting up gates to block access to public roads, clearing public land without permits, harassing trail workers, and generally just kind of doing what he wants. Seems his only qualification is that he lives in the west and has had numerous negative encounters with the Forest Service.

Sorry again, Randy & moderators, as I know posting links is technically a no-no. (In my defense, I do try to keep them pertinent to the forum and at a minimum.)

'Don't know 'bout that. Some here post only links ... no messages or opinions ... just links.
I think the intent of the rule was to stop others from linking to their own YouTube channels, advertising some products without sponsorship, etc. But yeah, there’s some folks on here who love assaulting the forum with garbage links for sure.

WTF!!! Words can barely describe the lawlessness and criminality people are displaying these days. Public land hunters and enthusiasts should be outraged.

One ought to think. Seems like the kind of guy that used to universally get outdoors types of all stripes outraged. Flood the zone with BS and it’s hard to keep up, I guess? My inner cynic (realist) is guessing this doesn’t register much of a blip.

Seems a rhetorical analogy might be giving the Wilks Bros a leadership position at BLM or the gang behind gating Hughes Creek Rd some leadership positions at USFS.

Just kind of ranting here, but it’s morbidly hilarious that when relatively innocuous proposals like restricting lead ammo on select national wildlife refuges, there was no shortage of people hyped up on NSSF whining like “THIS ADMINISTRATION IS DESTROYING OUR HUNTING HERITAGE!” Now no one seems to GAF when folks who are actually bad for public land users might be put in charge of a public land management agency.

Well put. I want to cuss like a sailor in my rants and yours come across as well articulated and thoughtful.

You’re hired.

The discrepancies you point out are both sad and horrifying.

No party is great for outdoorsmen any more. It’s just a fact.
