Wow! That's pretty interesting. There aren't too many elk that get down to that area. Many years ago, several desert mule deer drowned in the All American Canal in California when they cemented the sides.

Wellton firefighters assist with unusual rescue

Wellton firefighters recently lent a hand with a very unusual rescue. They helped Arizona Game and Fish pull an elk from a canal.
