Hi everyone, hope we r all having a great season, by the recent pics it looks like it!
I fly into Great Falls tomorrow, then head to Augusta to a friend's house, and finally hit the mtns. I just got off of the phone w the local wildlife biologist n been checking the weather forecasts, winds seem to be consistent SW to W. My plans originally were to go up the Bailey Basin trail then head East and hunt some BLM over there but the winds have changed my mind. Planning on heading down Bailey then turning West and checking out those other drainages; Cataract/Short Creek/Bunch Creek/6mile, into the wind, to then taking the trail back to Elk Creek rd and back to camp (Bailey trail head). The maps paper, OnX, Google Earth show some promising areas there; good cover/water/open and broken feed areas. Just checking w everyone if this sounds like a good plan and if anyone has any advice. Hunted some there last year but mainly in the west fork area, so for the most part going in blind.
Thanks to any and all, good luck to any and all

I'd just base camp down on the main road and day hunt in every direction. IMO, maps and google earth don't quite capture the ruggedness of that area.
