Unit 40 Colorado Rifle elk

Looking at applying for a unit 40 3rd or 4th rifle tag. Plan to hunt the lower BLM land along the canyon or Utah border. Does anyone have any recent experience in this unit? I'm well aware of the private issue and difficult access. Thanks

My first Coloardo elk hunt was in Unit 40. All we had to hunt was the National Forest, south of Glade Park. Was unsuccessful, but had a good time.

I am hoping my health will take a hunt this year and I can get both my sons in camp with me. I need these low elevation hunts.
