Unit 29, Idaho Elk

Just bought my elk tag for unit 29. This will be my first trip to Idaho and first time elk hunting. I am going with a couple guys that have been to the area a few times.

Just looking for some tips or advice from anyone that has hunted the area.

Grew up hunting that unit as a kid. It is beautiful country but I'm not sure it's as good now with the wolves and all. Either way i'm sure you'll have a good time, Good luck!

It's still a good unit I would also have a deer tag in my pocket if I'm going to be in 29. I would hunt the Northen part of the unit and stay more on the HWY 28 side.
