Coworker had a tick on him today, it’s that time!

It’s always time nowadays. Got one on me hiking on Christmas Eve. Seems the least little bump above freezing and they are active. I despise them.

Tonight at sunset I went out to a creek bottom that was planted from a field to bottomland hardwoods about 10 years ago, early succession habitat. The woodcocks use the area on their migration. They did not disappoint with several calling and chasing; landing as close as 5 feet. All the sounds of spring were in full roar. Several owls both barred and great horned were calling and the turkeys were booming back at them. The peepers were peeping too!
