Turkeys

Turkeys are out of the swamp here, and back on the uplands but there's still too much snow to really get around, so they tend to stay on roost until very late in the morning, then hit a magic pile of corn that somehow shows up at the neighbors.

Application for first season is in. Should get an email from the DNR in early March.

Late April - prime gobbling time. Got a nice new slate call and a @BrentD cherry wood box call ready to go. Once the snow is gone, I'm going to set up another blind on the backside of the property on a travel line between a field and the red pines. Set up a feeding hen decoy, let out some clucks & purrs and wait patiently.

Should probably call the neighbor too and see if I can get permission.

Can’t wait drew black hills and packing Wyoming tags as well. Gonna be a great season. And if anyone has any fishing spots up that way you wouldn’t mind sharing I’d appreciate it.
