Truck Guns

I've got buddies that keep guns in their combines too.

One of my favourites is sorghum harvest time here. Ride on the header with the farmer and wait for the last few rows - the hogs go all over the place - very target rich environment. 30/30 works a treat for this.

Ruger mini 14 ranch rifle w 30 rd. magazine in the tractor for coyotes and wolves,
I always mean to get a gun rack setup for my tractor and get me a "tractor gun". It seems like animals can ignore a tractor better than just about anything. Coyotes, deer, etc.

They don't even run off when the tractor stops because you start and stop pretty regularly anyway on a tractor. Same coyote that will turn and run flat out if it sees a truck will wander behind the tractor while I'm mowing or tilling weeds hoping for a mouse or other rodent to come out.

Ha! I've permanently mounted an old wool-lined, leather scabbard that carries the old mini 14 ranch rifle in the tractor just for this reason.
