Trout Pond Maintenance

There are also wind-powered aerators that work really well if you're in an area that would get enough wind. The windmill wouldn't need to be right next to the pond either, you can easily run a couple hundred feet of air tubing to the diffuser in the pond.
Keeping the snow cleared off some of the ice in winter can help keep O2 from dropping too low.

Thats crazy!. $400+/month? What size pump? CFM's?

I meant to say $100/month. And if I recall it was a 3/4HP air pump on a timer and you had to change the oil in the thing constantly. Not counting how much the 400 feet of underground power wire would have cost...I gave up on the topic after I priced everything.

If the fish survive and grow in my pond then great, if not, well then oh well.

I don't stock trout and my pond is infested with crappie that need to be gone.
