Yea, same, only one way I answer that question, “yes, honey, YOU!”My wife quit asking me that question because she always found the answer inappropriate. Now she just tells me what to do.

Screw slicing it! Just dump it all into a crockpot with some beans and make ham and bean soup. She says what are you doing? I said, "nothing". Her. Good would you slice the leftover ham from last night dinner? I said I was thinking about going squirrel hunting..she says great, slice the ham first. I said it going to be too late for squirrels. She says that I better hurry then. I still can't figure out where I went wrong.
Sure, a 5-6# solid chunk of ham makes for a great soup. What kind of bowl do you eat that out of? You must use a shovel for a spoon?Screw slicing it! Just dump it all into a crockpot with some beans and make ham and bean soup.
I found the out for this. Married 30 years. She finds the humor in it when I outsmart her most times. Knowing the left over ham and bone would become my responsibility as I was cleaning it up I turned to my mom and offered it to her to take home and make soup. She was all over that. And now my wife couldn't ask for it back. lol. Later she commented it was smooth. Got me out of work and let me get to watching the Phillies game. Win, win. "But what's my plan for lunch at work since there wont be soup" Which was her plan for me and my lunches. Sh*t didn't think of thatScrew slicing it! A good ham bone soup takes at least 24 hours. Probably closer to 36 hours of simmering in a Cajun bean bath hot tub to coax all the flavors out and let them mingle. So you weren’t going to have lunch the next day anyways.I found the out for this. Married 30 years. She finds the humor in it when I outsmart her most times.
