Tough trapping with the high water right now. Supposed to get an inch of rain Wednesday so that won’t help either. So went and broke the 17 out tonight to fill the truck

Slow going but the ice is leaving a hot more each day. Next couple days are hot so should help break the creeks open

2 today. First kit of the spring. I had been running such a good size average. Was probably running about 45 pound average. Also a first for me checking beaver traps in a late April blizzard that had left 4” of wet snow on the ground with another 4-6 tomorrow they say

It is fun. But honestly, as much of a nuisance as they are, if I never see another one, that would be totally fine with me. We’ve trapped hundreds over the years.

Trapping season is closed (except for nuisance jobs) and Turkey closed yesterday. So time to get after them another way.

MIL had a raccoon look into her back sliding door the other night, in town. Cage traps are set so the bandit can be safely “relocated”.

Have a couple traps around our chicken coop right now but seems the raccoons have been leaving them all alone for now.

I saw two dead raccoons hit on the road on the way to work today, along a stretch I have permission to trap. Might throw some out over a weekend to knock a few more back for the nesters.

Haha I am way late to the party. With kids sports and the lack of a 4wd truck, we were limited to 25 days of trapping in places my 2wd work truck to get me and only about 15 traps. Ended up with 5 cats. And of course we have record high prices on the only year I've had to limit my trapping haha.

Great work! 5 cats should have still been a heck of a payday! Great to see those kids getting after it!

Sold 6 of my 8 cats today at fur harvesters. The two best no sold, hopefully that pays off... cause I sure wouldn't have complained if they had just sold them at what they no sold them at today...

I was shocked when I got my bid sheet back and the Fallon Fur Sale. I thought there was a typo. I got more of those 5 cats than I did for 14 the year before

Prices fell overall it looks like from the sell in March, but they are still high on cats. Hardly worth putting up coons tho
