I am getting sick of this 112%-113% crap every day. It's too hot to do anything. Too hot to mow the lawn, too hot to go for a walk. I wake up in the morning and it's already 85%, and 100% by noon. Still over 100% at 9pm.

So how hot is it where you are ?

Except for sat. & sun., it's been over a hundred for about the last 2 1/2 weeks...heat index of around 110 every day last week...mid nineties over the weekend....felt like a cold front. Back over 100* yesterday. today, & rest of week. Escaping to northern New Mexico thursday til next tuesday.

Maybe you guys should go see Al Gore's movie:D :D :

"Humanity is sitting on a ticking time bomb. If the vast majority of the world's scientists are right, we have just ten years to avert a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet into a tail-spin of epic destruction involving extreme weather, floods, droughts, epidemics and killer heat waves beyond anything we have ever experienced.

If that sounds like a recipe for serious gloom and doom -- think again. From director Davis Guggenheim comes the Sundance Film Festival hit, AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH, which offers a passionate and inspirational look at one man's fervent crusade to halt global warming's deadly progress in its tracks by exposing the myths and misconceptions that surround it. That man is former Vice President Al Gore, who, in the wake of defeat in the 2000 election, re-set the course of his life to focus on a last-ditch, all-out effort to help save the planet from irrevocable change. In this eye-opening and poignant portrait of Gore and his "traveling global warming show," Gore also proves himself to be one of the most misunderstood characters in modern American public life. Here he is seen as never before in the media - funny, engaging, open and downright on fire about getting the surprisingly stirring truth about what he calls our "planetary emergency" out to ordinary citizens before it's too late."

Mid 90's to 100+ everyday. Damn hot for MT, and talking about breaking records. Hopefully we have an early winter. Gonna be to damn hot for bow season.

Been hot here every frickin day as well...knew when we had a 117* in June that this summer was gonna suck.

Just brought my girls back from the State Little League softball tournament down in Concord....114* plus nearly 40% humidity- had four kids drop and two umpires hit the dirt. Crazy chit to even be out in that weather |oo

Excerpts from 2005 Redding, California Diary:

May 30: Just moved to Redding. Now this is a city that knows how to live!!!
Beautiful sunny days and warm balmy evenings. What a place! It is
beautiful. I've finally found my home. I love it here.

June 14: Really heating up. Got to 100 today. Not a problem. Live in
an air-conditioned home, drive an air-conditioned car. What a pleasure to see the sun everyday like this. I'm turning into a sun worshipper.

June 30th: Had the backyard landscaped with western plants today. Lots of cactus and rocks. What a breeze to maintain. No more mowing lawn for me. Another scorcher today, but I love it here.

July 10th: The temperature hasn't been below 100 all week. How do
people get used to this kind of heat? At least it's kind of windy
though. But getting used to the heat is taking longer than I expected.

July 15th: Fell asleep by the pool. (Got 3rd degree burns over 60% of
my body). Missed 3 days of work. What a dumb thing to do. I learned my lesson thought. Got to respect the ol' sun in a climate like this.

July 20th: I missed Lomita (my cat) sneaking into the car when I left
this morning. By the time I got to the hot car at noon, Lomita had died and swollen up to the size of a shopping bag and stank up the upholstery. The car now smells like Kibbles and shit. I learned my lesson though. No more pets in this heat.

July 25th: The wind sucks. I feels like a giant freaking blow dryer!!
And it's hot as hell. The home air-conditioner is on the fritz and the
AC repairman charged $200.00 just to drive by and tell me he needed to order parts.

July 30th: Been sleeping outside on the patio for 3 nights now.
$300,00 house and I can't even go inside. Why did I ever come here?

Aug 4th: It's 115 degrees. Finally got the air-conditioner fixed
today. It cost $500 and gets the temperature down to 85. I hate this
stupid city.

Aug 8th: If another wise ass cracks, "Hot enough for you today?" I'm
going to strangle him. Damn heat. By the time I get to work, the
radiator is boiling over, my clothes are soaking wet and I smell like baked cat!!

Aug 9th: Tried to run some errands after work. Wore shorts, and when I sat on the seats in the car, I thought my ass was on fire. I lost 2 layers of flesh and all the hair on the back of my legs and ass. Now my car smells like burnt hair, fried ass, and baked cat.

Aug 10th: The weather report might as well be a damn recording. Hot and sunny. Hot and sunny. Hot and sunny. It's been too hot to do shit for 2 damn months and the weatherman says it might really warm up next week. Doesn't it ever rain in this damn desert? Water rationing will be next, so my $1700 worth of cactus will just dry up and blow over! Even the cactus can't live in this damn heat.

Aug 14th Welcome to HELL!! Temperature got to 115 today. Forgot to crack the window and blew out the damn windshield in the car. The installer came to fix and said, "Hot enough for you today?" My sister had to spend $1500 to bail me out of jail. Freaking Redding!!!

What kind of sick demented idiot would want to live here????
Will write later to let you know how the trial goes.

LMAO, Marv, If we knew of anybody vactioning in ......say Taos, NM where it's nice and cool, we could crash at there place and sit on the Patio overlooking a damn Trout stream and have them bring us cold ones while we tell them what a nice place they have! John

Got that right John....I wonder if that ol' timer is even thinking about us back here at the daily grind?......yeah, right ;) Probably having steak, eggs, and a nooner about now :D

wusses. Last week we were in the upper 90's with humidity at the same level. Sweat like a pig and it dont evaporate, so you dont cool from it.

Here in "Chithole, Md." we've had highs in the mid 90's, but the humidity is so bad that the air is like syrup. Feels like your living in a pressure cooker!! :(

We hit somewhere around 68degrees today. It was actually to hot for me. I'd die if I was in the lower 48 with that heat wave.
