Purple are gauges that have exceeded the "Major Flood" level. Black is record setting flows. I just commented last week that the Skagit has the oldest FEMA flood mapping in the Puget Sound area, and a really low 100-yr flood elevation. I bet that changes soon!
 
My in-laws live in Mt.Vernon.
Evacuated last night to SIL who lives on higher ground. Skagit hasn't crested yet, but its 4' higher than ever recorded. They are saying the river wont reach full flood until tomorrow morning.

Yeah. There's going to be some tragically iconic photos that come from this event.
