Thinking about getting a pellet grill

holy crap i have not looked at basic pellet grill prices in a long time and they have basically been untouched (oppositely touched actually) by inflation, at least just by looking at my pit boss model.

i bought my basic 820 in 2019 for 500 bucks at lowes. the current 850 with wifi is ..... you guessed it 500 bucks at lowes.

that's basically a raw, like, 20% discount or something when accounting for inflation. even better when you consider the features and upgrades that come with it.

i should probably go buy one, stupid not to right?

I have that exact one and think this is solid advice. The wifi built in is just one more thing that can fail on your grill and from my experience usually one of the first to go.
Yeah, I thought that too. Comparing prices, for the Traeger plus the cost of the monitor I have the cost of the Pit Boss with it already installed. If it craps out and isn't covered by the warranty I could then get the separate unit.

Get two, they're cheap! ;)

Alright. I went for it and just bought the Pit Boss 820. TSC had a 1 mile per dollar bonus with my Alaska card and when I signed in to use it there was also a 500 mile bonus when spending X amount of money, which I did. Cool! Damn near 1000 points for a future flight. Now I just have to figure out a way to go back to Alaska! Now I'm just waiting for the email saying to go pick it up. Thanks for the help, guys! As usual, I did the old bigger is always better thing. 🤷‍♂️

ain't nothing better than pressin a button, turning a knob, going to sleep, and then walking out on the porch early the next morning to that hypnotically sublime smell combination of seasoned rendering pork fat and wood smoke.

will need lots of pictures dave
