Sitting in my wife's hospital room and the news came on about a mass shooting at a parade this morning in Highland Park near Chicago. 6 dead and 24 wounded right now. Rifle, young white male, on the run as of a few minutes ago.

Our country does not have strict gun laws by any definition. Make the weapons capable of these atrocities illegal for untrained civilians to own. We're never going to be a great country until human lives are valued by law, and "well regulated" is the chant of 2A advocates.
Pretty sure this county is already great. More laws only make more criminals.

At least we're number 1 in something.
HP already had a AWB in place as well as a ban on magazines of 10rds or more. It helped not. As well as Illinois requires you to have a Foid card.

No different than other mass shootings that occur every weekend in Cook County.
There is a difference.
These are rookie numbers compared to some weekends in other parts of Cook County, but those don’t make the news.

Preach. Laws are man-made. If they made it against the law to hate somebody, we would all be imprisoned… Also, I’ve never had an “easy” time obtaining a firearm…

They make the local news but it's just mentioned in passing people are so used to it here that it gets about as much attention as a road kill raccoon.
Funny thing about laws, criminals by definition dont follow them...

More laws and gun regulations won’t change the situation in our country, people with a broken thought process can’t be regulated, or controlled, only jailed after they choose to act on there thoughts and cross the moral boundary line . Nobody wakes up one day and just does this, it’s a gradual process where they embrace dark thoughts and choose not to resist them and over time, generally years there heart becomes dark and harden where they no longer feel remorse and they become lost mentally. And can on longer see the line between right and wrong. By the time they put thoughts into action they’ve been gone mentally for awhile. That’s kinda how I perceive these type of people
