The official 2025 Wyoming elk hunt for Dave N thread.

More rain. More humidity. Can't do crap outside without melting. I did manage to break out the bike and stretch my legs for a few miles this afternoon. Won't be doing that until it cools off again.

Get after it Dave! Sweat is progress 😉 I'm sure you guys have been dealing with the smoke too, but it definitely makes a difference. Its almost like altitude training!

No smoke. Good thing, the air is thick enough! I've been hitting the elliptical and doing some other stuff to keep active. Getting old sucks! I've learned my lesson about overdoing things and toned it down a notch. I'll never be in mountain shape but I'm not giving up on trying!

Its tough to be mountain shape unless you're on them all the time! My few trips a year isn't enough to keep it! Glad to hear you're keeping after it!

I would love to crash your elk camp and keep everyone up with my chainsaw snoring. Wishes in one hand and sh!t in the other as GrandPop used to say. The freezer is empty and the pressure is on to punch all my tags this year.

Hoping there is cell coverage in your elk camp. The anticipation for updates will be intense!

You obviously haven't heard the stories of my snoring

I would sure hate to hear about an old hunting bud getting smacked on the head because he was snoring and then miss the day a big bull was waiting for him. Ya can't blame a half asleep friend for the smack as he needs his sleep too. So maybe consider taking a clothes pin for night time use. No, correction......a small C clamp may be needed for those deep breaths when dreaming of the perfect shot?

I imagine if it's very bad I always have my truck! ;)

I’ve had some friends that started to partially tape their mouth to hold it in place and help them to breathe through their nose at night. Seems to have stopped their snoring. Might be worth looking into.

I don't have to worry about it anymore since I have the house to myself! I do know that I sometimes used to wake myself up from my snoring but haven't for a long time.

I'll sleep wherever I'm told. Got a feeling I'll be worn out enough that I could fall asleep at the table! Drug out an old Walmart backpack and put 30 pounds in it. Up and down the stairs in the house for a while. That will make the legs quiver! Knees feel good at least.
