The Great HT 2026 weigh in.

Well, after experiencing the anxiety and stress that comes with a wife in midlife crisis who is destroying our finances as best she can, I've found that I'm actually underweight by about 10-15#, I now weigh what I did as a high school senior...what a bitch of a diet to be on :ROFLMAO:. Geez, I need to start lifting again...

The two most effective diets in the world are cocaine and divorce, ask me how I know ? 😂

I see a lot of you say you are counting calories. Am I dumb for not counting calories?
Yes.
Everyone is different and knowing your body and what works for you is key, not what some knuckleheads on hunt talk says! 🤪

If I eat 2500 calories worth of Mike and Ike’s and cookies that is going to affect me more adverse then if I eat 4000 calories worth of lean protein, veggies, and fruit cooked in good oils with salt and pepper.
You are gonna gain weight on the latter, unless you have a crazy metabolism.

I don't understand why it has to be so binary for people. Eat decent most of the time and count your macros. Have a piece of pizza, or a cookie or whatever occasionally, daily if it fits your macros and calories.

I quiet watching my diet until late September due to strenuous hunts. My weight was tracking well until the holiday season. I finally manned up this week to see the damage. 10 pounds. I was expecting way worse. I’ll have the weight dropped in 4-6 weeks of watching my diet.

I started at 13# of visceral fat this morning the scale says that I’m down to 6# things seem to be going well

Weighing in at 224lbs and about to start defending a city league basketball championship starting Tuesday. That should help lose a few pounds. Haven’t touched a basketball though since we had to win 5 in a row in one week and beat the other team twice in the championship to win our bracket.

I fluctuate 20lbs pretty regularly but haven’t been below 200 in about 15 years. I think I would be skin and bones below 200, but would like to get back near there before the summer/fall. That’s the goal, 205ish.
Step 1 (not recommended): fully tear achilles tendon

232.6 this morning. 10.5 miles run so far this year.

Invented a new a wellness challenge at work. Giving away gift cards to folks who get in 50,000 steps a week or have 3 - 30 minute non running or walking workouts in a week. Each week gets your name in a hat to be in a random drawing monthly. i.e. you could get your name in 4 times a month if you met the requirement each week of the month. If you make every week for 3 months meeting the goal then you automatically get a gift card.

I did both of mine playing basketball. Left one in 2019 and right one in 2023. Slow learner. No more 3 on 3...

3-6 months. Surgery tomorrow, then a cast for 6-8 weeks, then slow recovery after that.

Yeah…

I went surgery route for both of mine. I would ask for additional input on recovery - same surgeon both times for me and on the second one he had the cast off at <4 weeks and starting PT sooner. A lot of surgeons/PT are recommending weight bearing and activity sooner. I took BPC157, protein supplements and creatine while recovering from the second one. Seemed like a better recovery overall.

First surgery was the end of January and after 5 days of archery elk hunting in late Sept I needed a lot of ice and rest. But I could hike pretty good off trail.

One year after the second surgery one I did a 1/2 marathon with 3k+ ft of elevation gain with no issues.

I had a knee scooter and a "iwalk" linked below. I used the iwalk to go about 2 miles round trip on a trail that had some up and down, that was interesting. Slightly sketchy. But nice for moving around home and work, going up and down stairs. And did some fishing with it too.

I decided to sign up with Noom and start with injectables. Going the microdose route. They have an app with doctors, health and exercise coaches, and nutritionists. It keeps track of daily steps and you enter your meals and snacks to see where you are with calories and protein and how "good" they are. My insurance wouldn't cover Ozempic so I may as well try this. $99 first month and $199 after that. I really need to lose the belly I've had forEVER!
