Does Putin actually want Trump?

Russia is a petro state. Trumps stances on domestic production and exports alone should be enough to make Putin want anybody but him, shouldn’t it?
Economically, aren’t Trump policies harmful to Russia?
Stop talking like an informed citizen. You're wrecking this thread already.

Putin needs to win Ukraine (or have some sufficient success to declare victory - Bush on an aircraft carrier or such) to keep his head. US oil production is the least of his worries. If US pulls plug on Ukraine support Putin's gravest personal and political risk goes away. You are damn right Putin is wishing for a Trump Whitehouse in his stocking.

Putin had his way with Obama 1.0. No different with Obama 2.0

Neither Trump nor Biden have much control over domestic energy production.

Production under Biden has surpassed production under Trump. The only difference between R and D on production is rhetoric.

Guessing Putin loves DT’s policy and negativity towards NATO. Recently DT more or less inferred Russia could invade whatever country it wants. Is Poland next?

Then that emboldens China even more with respect to Taiwan.

China will make their move on Taiwan sooner rather than later, depending on reading the tea leaves of reliable election polls this summer.

Really?

Really?

That is not upstream production, but rather downstream marketing. I think the policy change is a mistake.

It does have benefit for the American consumer. We are awash in natural gas. The price domestically are far lower than the price in Europe. Slowing exports will keep natural gas prices low here.

One of my big concerns about LNG is that it is such a ripe target for a terrorist attack. If a tanker gets hit, it will be the lead story.
