I was thinking the exact same thing. I hadn't realized just how big his dad's buck was.Man that buck of yours would be a buck of a lifetime for most including myself. That 3 point though....wow.

Came out of Oregon somewhere in the desert country south east of bend. I’m sure it’s different now than it was 35 years ago. I believe it was a general tag at the time, and I think it’s easy to draw controlled hunt now. I don’t know much about the history and quality of that area. If someone does, reach out. What state you take the mega 3 point? General tag?
My grandpas biggest deer was a monster 3 point like yours.Came out of Oregon somewhere in the desert country south east of bend. I’m sure it’s different now than it was 35 years ago. His hunting buddy told me it was a very exceptional deer for the area even for 35 years ago.

No problem, it was great meeting you!Got the age results back today. Thank you @Big Sky Guy for helping me extract the tooth correctly. Had to drive into the shop and have the professionals help me cause the first sample I submitted had a damaged root. I thought he was old, but pretty cool to find out he was 8.5.
Those of you that know the unit (@MTTW @mtmuley), she sent the average and median as well:
