Man that buck of yours would be a buck of a lifetime for most including myself. That 3 point though....wow.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I hadn't realized just how big his dad's buck was.

Kind of a wild night. Went to the Bobcat game. Ended up going down town for a couple drinks with friends. Got an uber home. My driver was Stetson Lawrence. If you don’t know who that is watch”Another 8 second ride”. Watched that a few years ago and love the bull riding mentality.

What state you take the mega 3 point? General tag?

Came out of Oregon somewhere in the desert country south east of bend. I’m sure it’s different now than it was 35 years ago. I believe it was a general tag at the time, and I think it’s easy to draw controlled hunt now. I don’t know much about the history and quality of that area. If someone does, reach out.

His hunting buddy told me it was a very exceptional deer for the area even for 35 years ago.

Got the age results back today. Thank you @Big Sky Guy for helping me extract the tooth correctly. Had to drive into the shop and have the professionals help me cause the first sample I submitted had a damaged root. I thought he was old, but pretty cool to find out he was 8.5.

So he was born the year you started applying for the unit? That’s pretty neat, like he was just waiting all those years on the mountain for you to draw .
