Target Rich Environment

That landscape looks like antelope hunting. Great to see elk are readjusting out of the mountains and back to rolling hills there too.
I see them here in eastern Wyoming all the time. Here’s a couple bills just walking down hwy 59 between Gillette and Douglas a couple weeks ago.

Yesterday evening was too much fun. It was great to have the boys along. Young eyes really help. Saw around 20 bulls and about 50 cows/calves. Saw some really good bulls. Nothing that knocked my socks off but some really nice bulls. I asked the boy if we found anything that would get him interested when the season opens and his comment was "I would snipe the shit out of every one of those bulls. Some input from you is going to be needed". That made me laugh. During his first elk season we hunted an any elk unit. At 12 he was good with anything. We did talk about not shooting a spike but rather a cow should it come to that. He was fully onboard with that at the time. One morning we found a herd of spikes, cows and calves. I mentioned which cow offered the best shot and his reply was "I am totally shooting that spike". :ROFLMAO: Not sure that attitude has changed 7 years later.
