Had a thought as I was drinking coffee. Has anyone taken the steps to preserve a elk cape and antlers to show how well a pack can pack a head and cape?

I've seen packs at shows with a weighted bag but never a head with antlers and cape.

Any of you guts who work retail selling packs might consider building that prop for sales...

I did that a few months ago with a pack I listed on eBay. I stuffed game bags and placed them on the meat shelf with large antlers on top.
After I sold it I deleted the photos.

A tanned elk cape weighs a fraction of what it was when green (bloody). Also, a cape tanned for mounting is quite stiff. The taxidermist soaks it just before mounting to make it supple. But it must be mounted on the form and dried fairly quickly or it will get moldy.
