One of my worst memories when I was a kid was seeing my great grandfather, grandfather, n uncles getting ready and heading north to go hunting, I am not letting that happen to my grandson....
Planning on taking my grandson w me the second weekend up to Montana for about 5 days. We will be staying near Augusta at my friends place. Planning on going near Haystack for “any” buck (muley/whitetail) and “any” elk (preferably good meat cow). Being he is still a kid I’m not going to be able to take him in the areas I usually hunt; too rough, anyone out there have any other suggestions on other places that would be doable for a 7yo? Not looking for “trophies” being anything w him would be a trophy in our mind; not to mention just the experience of him being up there w me.
Also clothes wise for him, I know and have experienced the weather changes up there, any suggestions on decent clothes for him? Don’t want to get him “high end” stuff that he will just grow out of. N if anyone has any “hand me downs” shoot me a pm. Looking at thrift stores around here but ain’t much of that kind of stuff in San Antonio!!!
