Has anyone used and hunted with the Swift Scirocco ll bullets? Can you elaborate on the bullets performance and accuracy in your experience

A friend of mine used the first generation Scirocco in an .06 180 grain for years. Deer, elk, antelope and bears. I don't doubt the second gen is any different. mtmuley

Your friend used them for years so im assuming they worked good for him

I shot a bull elk with a .30 cal. 165 grain Scirocco 11 at a little over 500 yards through both lungs and it exited. The bull walked 3 or 4 steps and stopped behind a tree so I couldn't shoot again and after a few seconds he fell and rolled down the hill. That was with a 300 RUM starting around 3400 fps. I could never get them to shoot as well as some other bullets in my rifle but plenty good enough to hunt with. I think they are pretty tough bullets, but any bullet would have killed that elk hit in the same place.

Have used the 6.5 130 grain ones. Were picky to work a load up for and pressured out quicker than similar weight bullets. They worked alright I just want a less weight retention bullet.

Do you reload for your RUM

Was loaded in the most accurate factory ammo in my 7mm and also good in my 6.5. Factory ammo with this bullet in my particular 270 didn't group. I've taken a muley and pronghorn with them. Good bullets, expand well, and retain weight. hunt them with confidence for just about any game if they group to your rifle's liking. Reloading probably unlocks their full accuracy potential.

I got a box of the 150gr, 7mm Sirocco bullets a few years ago.

Plenty accurate enough on the range, especially for a hunting rifle.

Performance on deer is similar to the Nosler Ballistic Tip of the same weight.

Lots of internal damage, with an exit hole. I haven't recovered one yet.

Most of my shots have been 70 yards and under in the PA woods.
Haven't had the opportunity to stretch it's legs on the gaslines yet.

I agree. They were a little inconsistent from lot to lot as well, as far as bearing surface.

They do hold together really well, even through bone.
So im pretty new to the technical side. When you say inconsistent bearing surface, what does that mean exactly? And how much did the inconsistencies show up in your groups and so on?
