A friend of mine used the first generation Scirocco in an .06 180 grain for years. Deer, elk, antelope and bears. I don't doubt the second gen is any different. mtmuley

I shot a bull elk with a .30 cal. 165 grain Scirocco 11 at a little over 500 yards through both lungs and it exited. The bull walked 3 or 4 steps and stopped behind a tree so I couldn't shoot again and after a few seconds he fell and rolled down the hill. That was with a 300 RUM starting around 3400 fps. I could never get them to shoot as well as some other bullets in my rifle but plenty good enough to hunt with. I think they are pretty tough bullets, but any bullet would have killed that elk hit in the same place.

Have used the 6.5 130 grain ones. Were picky to work a load up for and pressured out quicker than similar weight bullets. They worked alright I just want a less weight retention bullet.

130 grain Scirocco, .260 Remington.

They work well.

Yes, I was using IMR 4831 mainly because I had it on hand.

Was loaded in the most accurate factory ammo in my 7mm and also good in my 6.5. Factory ammo with this bullet in my particular 270 didn't group. I've taken a muley and pronghorn with them. Good bullets, expand well, and retain weight. hunt them with confidence for just about any game if they group to your rifle's liking. Reloading probably unlocks their full accuracy potential.

I really like the idea of them, but I've heard they can be picky about seating depth. What has your experience been?
